Case: Village Government Implements Water-Smart Zoning

With climate and weather changes accelerating, realtime information is a must for farm and vineyards.

Challenge

Demonstrate that lot size can be an effective defence against drought or overpumping from domestic and farm groundwater wells.

Our Response

First, we worked alongside a hydrologist conducting a long-term study using manual groundwater measurements to demonstrate the efficacy of automated data collection. After a short period of validation, a community groundwater network was deployed and expanded.

Today

Rich meta-tagged information is collected and assembled in real-time. Hydrogeologists report on seasonal conditions quarterly, including specific metrics to support smart, fact-based development planning.
